This week brought us the first day of Spring, and although it's raining heavily as I type this, I know we're looking forward to warmer (and drier) days. Winter was challenging in many ways beyond the cold weather. There is still international unrest in Europe and other parts of the world, and national inflation is still on the rise. But even more pressing, many church members and families have encountered new situations in life which require patience, prayer, and perseverance for days and years to come. Never forget to pray for one another!
We've been blessed with visitors to Pine Grove these last six weeks, and I hope you've been able to drop a kind and encouraging word so they feel at home with us. May our Lord continue His expansion of His kingdom, and may we be ready as a church - and as individuals - to do what He desires in that work!
April 14 Special Thursday service with Lord's Supper
We will celebrate the Lord's Supper during a special candlelight service on Thursday, April 14 at 7:00 p.m. This will replace our regular Wednesday Bible study for that week. The service will also feature a reading of Jesus's Passion directly from the Scriptures. This is a solemn service, as we reflect on what Christ did for us in His sufferings, and it prepares us for the joy and celebration of Easter Sunday.
April 17 Easter Sunday Sunrise Service 7:00 a.m.
Pine Grove will offer a Sunrise Service at 7:00 a.m. for early risers who wish to celebrate the Lord's resurrection in a manner like that of the women who went to the tomb "while it was still dark" (John 20:1). Details about a possible breakfast will be forthcoming, due to uncertainty with local restaurant staffing problems. Our evening service for the day will be suspended and families can enjoy celebrating the resurrection together with Easter dinner.
April 17 Easter Sunday Regular Service Hour 11:00 a.m.
Pine Grove will also hold our regular service hour at 11:00 a.m. on Easter Sunday
April 2022 Pine Grove Trail Work resumes!
Since Spring is here and it looks like we can leave winter in our rear view mirrors, we're resuming work on the Pine Grove Trail in April, weather permitting. More details coming soon.
